That's Me!

Website Design & Development optimized for User Experiences

Sackett Solutions is a one man website design and development studio headed by Dan Sackett. I am a dedicated professional who believes that all things can be conquered with a helping hand. I am currently studying Information Systems at Penn State University, but I have a passion for the web and have been manipulating pixels for five years. I get excited to hear new ideas and would love to see what you have in mind for your next project. Whether it's a groundbreaking idea or something small, let me extend my hand and help bring your vision to the web.

My Work

Through the years, I have created many projects for a diverse range of clients. Below is a collection of some of the success stories in both web design and web development. Feel free to click on a project to learn more about the process behind them and client.

The Wake-Up Squad

Website Development (ASP.net, C#, XHTML, CSS and jQuery)
Completed During Summer Internship at Cephalon Inc.

The Wake-Up Squad website was my first project that I was offered while working with Cephalon Inc. in the summer of 2011. It helps those with Shift Work Disorder diagnose and treat the issues they may be suffering from through helpful surveys and interesting facts. I was asked to convert the old design from PHP to ASP.net in order to update it regularly from within the company. After testing and learning the Microsoft language, I was able to launch the final product for worldwide viewing.

ECS Interiors

Website Design & Development and Logo Design (Photoshop, XHTML, CSS, and Wordpress)
Completed in 2010

ECS Interiors is the online home of Ellen Cowan-Sackett, an Interior Decorator based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was looking to take her business to the next level and asked me to help her make the step to the web. Together we came up with a suitable logo and minimal design that required no scrolling. I was able to implement Wordpress to manage her photo gallery and various updates to pages throughout the site. In the end, we were both pleased with the final product and continue to work together to create an even better user experience.

JC & Crew Haircutters

Website Design & Development (Photoshop, XHTML, CSS, jQuery, and Wordpress)
Completed in 2010

JC & Crew Haircutters is a small salon that offers big things located in Cranford, New Jersey. From Perms to manicures, they offer everything. Their staff is skilled and diverse in their talents to satisy all requests. I was hired to create a website that worked with their logo and maroon color scheme. We settled on a simple design featuring a dark blue to compliment the maroon. The site is completely available through Wordpress and uses its many features including a contact form and photo gallery.

Binge Listening

Website Design & Development (Photoshop, XHTML, CSS, jQuery, and Wordpress)
Completed in 2010

Binge listening is the brain child of Andrew Bailey, a music enthusist with a knack for writing reviews on freshly released albums. He approached me in 2010 about redesigning his website into something that he could both maintain and show off. Provided the logo, I got to work on a slick two column design that allowed him to show a great deal of content without taking up the majority of the page. All reviews are easily integrated into the back-end of Wordpress as well as feature pages and news articles.

Nuvigil

Website Development (ASP.net, C#, XHTML, CSS and jQuery)
Completed During Summer Internship at Cephalon Inc.

Nuvigil is a drug that helps those with Shift Work Disorder. While working with Cephalon Inc. during the 2011 summer, I was able to convert this website from PHP scripting to ASP.net scripting. Of the three projects I worked on, this one was the largest. It features multiple websites including a healthcare provider site and a patient site. With HTML5, CSS, and jQuery, I was able to bring the design alive and create a user experience that matched the former creation.

Provigil

Website Development (ASP.net, C#, XHTML, CSS and jQuery)
Completed During Summer Internship at Cephalon Inc.

Provigil was the second website I was involved with at Cephalon Inc. over my 2011 summer internship. Much like The Wake-Up Squad, they were looking to transfer the PHP code into a usable ASP.net code in order to maintain the website from within the company. I set out to mimic the layout and create usable code. The project was exciting to work on as I continued to learn ASP.net and used HTML5 components.
